Project Description

Final Evaluation Rating: Satisfactory

CELRL is performing proof tests on three sliplined CMPs at the Paducah LFPP to demonstrate the efficacy of slipliner technology to grout both the annular space between the CMP and liner pipe as well as void spaces outside the CMP.  The Contractor will investigate the integrity of slipliner technology to rehabilitate deteriorated CMP installations at the Paducah Local Flood Protection Project. The project involves four phases:

  1. Non-destructive inspection of one CMP using gamma ray logging and thermographic imaging before and after the CMP is slip-lined,
  2. Hydraulic proof load testing of one CMP before and after the CMP is slip-lined,
  3. Excavation inspection, and dissection of three CMPs after sliplining, grouting, and non-destructive testing are completed, and,
  4. Replacement of the three demolished slip-lined CMPs using conventional construction methods.
